1. The focal stakeholder is the patient. 
2. ROI on healthcare expenditures within a population must create value within the patient’s healthcare journey. 
3. Clinical costs and outcomes are attributed to a full cycle of care. 
4. Clinician and patient care coordination and collaboration, and disease site-of-service awareness enhance, the value and outcomes achieved. 
5. Clinician value-based payment competency and patient health literacy/social determinants directly impact value and outcomes achieved. 
6. Protectionist barriers to value-based competition must be eliminated. 
7. Transparency of healthcare price and outcomes must be widely available. 
8. Clinician administrative burdens must be minimized to facilitate increased and enhanced engagement with the patient.
